Dr. Zebib K. Abraham, M.D.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist trained in Adult Psychiatry. I completed my medical training at and obtained my medical doctorate from Weill Cornell Medical College, then psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. I received additional training in psychodynamic therapy at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. I have worked in several outpatient settings, including the Mount Sinai World Trade Center Program for mental health.
Additionally, I have an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh.
I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, personality and trauma-related disorders. In my practice, I particularly enjoy working with people with anxiety-related issues.
I have experience in multiple therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, CBT and DBT, and I incorporate other modalities as appropriate. I work with patients in open-ended exploration, as well as more concrete tools for mental health management.
My approach is holistic, collaborative, supportive, and patient-centered. In my psychiatric health management, I focus not only medications but the whole body, as well as integrative medicine approaches. In the therapeutic aspects of my treatment, I explore relational and family issues, intergenerational trauma, and marginalized experiences. We will not only explore your past experiences, but help you identify your own values and goals, from personal relationships to personal fulfillment, and work towards your aspirations. I work with an awareness of mind-body connection, relationships, creativity, and more.
